Abstract

Brent Chapman, co-author of "Building Internet Firewalls" published by O'Reilly & Associates will be talking about some of his most recent work with firewalls. This may include topics such as intra-network security.

Speaker Bio

Brent Chapman is a consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area, specializing in the networking of UNIX systems. He has designed and built many Internet firewall systems for a wide variety of clients, using a range of techniques and technologies. He is the co-author of the book Building Internet Firewalls (O'Reilly & Associates, September 1995), founder of the Firewalls and List-Managers Internet mailing lists, and creator of the Majordomo mailing list management package. Before founding Great Circle Associates, he was operations manager for a financial services company, a world-renowned corporate research lab, a software engineering company, and a hardware engineering company. Brent holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Take 355 to Butterfield Rd (Rt 56). Butterfield West to Lambert Rd. Lambert Rd North to first right after College Road. Park in lots 7 or 8 and walk to SRC building. Room 1024 is on the first floor of the SRC building, near the entrance.
