Abstract

The key to successful automated testing is to do it often and in depth. Perl's automated testing infrastructure is most obvious when installing modules, but you can also use it for your Perl applications, as well as other non-Perl languages and applications, simply by using the Perl testing framework and some CPAN modules. You'll learn:
  • How to think about automated testing
  • What to test
  • When to test
  • How to use the Perl testing framework to test anything
  • Testing PHP code
  • Testing web pages

    Speaker Bio

Andy Lester fell in love with Perl back in the mid 90s. He's written or maintained a number of CPAN modules, including HTML::Lint and WWW::Mechanize. During the day Andy plays with Perl at Follett Library Resources in McHenry, and at night he and his wife play with their 1-year-old daughter.
